What to expect at Drive

Breakout Sessions

Marketing can feel like a solo sport. These breakouts prove it’s not.

You’ll join smaller, peer-led sessions built around shared challenges, so the conversations are relevant, the advice is useful, and the people actually get it.

It’s a chance to get out of your own head, hear how others are tackling the same stuff, and realize you’re not the only one figuring it out as you go.

Expect honest convos, tactical ideas, and that “same here” feeling we all need sometimes.

You’ll swap ideas, trade war stories, and leave with notes worth saving, and a few new friends in your corner.

These convos can lead to new job offers, new ideas, or finally figuring out how to fix that thing that’s been driving you nuts at work.

Excursions

We know you don’t want to sit inside all day and you won’t have to.

On Day 2, we’re heading outside to explore the best of Vermont in peak September. Think crisp air, scenic trails, and a backdrop that’s basically a screensaver.

Join us for curated excursions like morning yoga, a walk along the Burlington waterfront, or a group bike ride through town.

It’s a chance to recharge, move your body, and connect with fellow marketers in a setting that’s a little less formal and a lot more fun.

Because let’s be honest, some of the best conversations happen when you’re not stuck in a session room.

You’ll come back recharged, clearer-headed, and probably with a few “yeah, I got that idea while biking by a lake” moments your coworkers will be jealous of.

Speaker Sessions

This is your chance to level up.

You’ll hear from top B2B marketing leaders, people who’ve been in the seat and done the work.

We’ve got 8 keynotes and 1 panel, all focused on the parts of marketing that actually matter: strategy, positioning, messaging, copy, content, social, and more. Each session includes time for Q&A, so you can ask the questions that actually matter to your work.

This is about investing in yourself, stepping out of the day-to-day to learn from the best, pick up new ideas, and sharpen your thinking. You’ll head home with notebooks full of ideas and a little extra fire to take into Monday.

You’re not just learning for fun, you’re stacking your resume, getting sharper at the stuff that actually moves your career forward, and putting yourself in the room with people who can open doors.

Networking

Whether it’s over coffee, ice cream (yes, Ben and Jerry’s is coming back this year), a happy hour, dinner, or a sunset cruise on Lake Champlain, there’s no shortage of ways to connect.

You’ll trade ideas, swap stories, and probably make a few new “work friends” you’ll keep texting long after the event ends.

The kind of people you can vent to, bounce ideas off, send memes to mid-meeting, or just lean on when work gets weird.

Because let’s be real: the best part of any event is the people you meet. And the relationships you build? They’re the ones that’ll answer your next big question, help you land that next role, or just remind you you’re not doing this alone.

"From the incredible venue on the shores of Lake Champlain to the networking opportunities, to the quirky, engaging speakers, this event checks all the boxes."

— Kate from OhMD

Work is a big part of who we are. And if you’re a B2B marketer, you already know, it’s not just B2B marketing. It’s strategy, creativity, pressure, identity, and trying to grow in a world that moves way too fast.

That’s why this event exists.

To bring together people who actually get it.

Not just to swap LinkedIn tips, but to share stories, ask for help, vent, laugh, and walk away feeling more clear, more capable, and a little less alone in the job.

Because community isn’t a nice-to-have, it’s how we grow.

FAQs

If you still have questions, let us know by sending us an email to hi@exitfive.com, we're always happy to help.
Where will Drive be held?

Drive will take place at Hula in Burlington, VT. Hula is a co-working space that sits right on Lake Champlain. It’s about a 7 minute drive from downtown Burlington and 16 minutes from the Burlington International Airport. Co-working space? Isn’t that lame and boring? Nope. You’ll see. You’ll be right there with an amazing view for two days right on the Lake (you can pop in if you want; depending on your appetite for nature’s cold plunge).

What criteria is Exit Five using to determine who gets a ticket?

As Drive and Exit Five are evolving, we’re finding we can provide the most value to in-house marketers at growing companies. That doesn’t mean we don’t love our agency/fractional friends, we do. But we just need to find a balance this year with a small venue and limited space. That’s why we’re trying to have a mix of 75% in-house and 25% agencies.

Where should I stay in Burlington?

We have reserved about 175 hotel rooms at Hotel Vermont, Hilton Garden Inn Burlington, and the Courtyard Burlington Harbor hotel. All three hotels are in downtown Burlington, a 7 minute drive/rideshare away from Hula. We’ll provide a booking link in the confirmation email once you purchase a ticket so you can purchase your room. We recommend you reserve your hotel room early because September is a busy time in Burlington. Hula is a 17 minute drive from Burlington International Airport (which is where you should fly into if you’re flying). It’s a 40 minute flight from New York, and a 3.5 hour drive from Boston; or a three day walk if you’re looking to really get some alone time in before the event - but we don’t recommend walking. Staying in downtown Burlington is the perfect option; you’ll be able to walk to the event (or take an Uber). Plus you’ll be surrounded by good places to eat, grab coffee, and explore the beautiful area of Downtown Burlington and Lake Champlain.

What time does Drive start? What time does it end?

Drive starts at 8 AM on Wednesday September 10th. We’ll wrap for the day around 5:00 PM that day with a sunset boat party or sponsor dinners to follow. On Thursday we start at 9 AM for excursions around Burlington and then come back to Hula at noon for more sessions. We’ll wrap for the day around 5:00 PM with a sunset boat party or sponsor dinners to follow.

Should I stay for both days?

Yes, absolutely. Both days we’ll have speakers, networking opportunities and breakout sessions you won’t want to miss.

Does my ticket purchase include food?

Yes, we’ll serve breakfast and lunch both days at Drive. Coffee/other beverages all day. We’ll also have a happy hour with Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. We’re hosting a welcome reception the night before Drive with hors d'oeuvres and we’re hosting an after party the second day that will have hors d'oeuvres as well. There’s plenty of local spots for a quick bite or coffee as you need it around town. You will not be out in the sticks searching for food. If you have dietary restrictions, we’ll confirm with you before the event, so don’t worry everyone will eat!

How should I pack for Drive

There’s no formal dress code. Wear whatever you’d wear at home. The weather can fluctuate this time of year so a mix of clothing is probably best, but you’ll check the weather before you come up. Also: we recommend bringing some workout clothes / activewear so you can explore, get around the city, and you might need them for your excursions. We’ll be in touch with more details about excursions closer to Drive.

Will there be areas or time to take meetings?

Yes. Hula has areas all around where you can sit, take a call, hop on a Zoom or take a break to answer emails. We will have breaks in the schedule for both days.

What airport should I fly into?

Burlington International Airport is only a 15 minute drive/rideshare away from The Hula (and about the same to downtown Burlington).

How many tickets are available for Drive?

We expect around 230 people at Drive this year.

What is our refund and ticket transfer policy?

All ticket sales are final. We do not offer refunds or transfers. We keep events small and tightly run, and last-minute changes are disruptive to the planning process. Please confirm you can attend before purchasing. Thanks for understanding and for supporting what we’re building.

Why are there applications for tickets this year?

Space is limited, and tickets last year were very popular (sell out in one day popular). So this year, tickets are by application only. Since we know demand will be high, we want to balance the audience to focus on B2B marketing leaders we think will get the most value from attending.

Is there a way I can see who is going before the event?

Yes! We will create a space within our community that all attendees will be added to so you can chat with everyone before the event. We will also send important announcements in there in addition to emails so you never miss an update.

How do I get my company to pay for my ticket?

If your company is going to pay for your ticket to Drive, please email us at hi@exitfive.com and we will send you a payment link you can share with your finance team.
